Gerard Mutabazi Amani

Founder & Executive Director

Gerard Mutabazi Amani was born in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Congo but lives in Edmonton Canada where he and his family were resettled as Refugees. Gerard has demonstrated leadership when it comes to social change over the years. He was the President & Founder of Diaspora African Youth Association (DAYA) where he championed youth unity and involvement in society on issues related to refugees, homelessness and education. In February 2016 he led a DAYA delegation to Youth Assembly at UN in New York where they won a Resolution Project competition and went on to establish Youth Empowerment & Integration. In September of 2016 Gerard was part of the Canadian delegation to the UN General Assembly where he attended the Leader’s Summit on the Global Refugee Crisis.

Gerard’s love for humanity has taken him to over 10 countries on youth missions including China, Russia, Kenya, Israel and the West Bank. Gerard holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and Masters of International Relations with a thesis on Socio-Economic Implications of Refugees Integration. He is passionate about the world of humanitarian, diplomacy and development.


Stanley Nwadiaru

Resource Coordinator

Stanley Nwadiaru was born in Lagos, Nigeria and migrated to Canada with his family under the Canadian Government Skilled Worker Program. He is passionate about human capital development, social change, democracy and good leadership. Currently working with a non-for- profit organization and using his lived-experiences as an immigrant and from one of countries with the highest number of displaced people in the world caused by Boko Haram (an insurgent group who claimed to be against western civilization, kidnapping and killing innocent Nigerian Citizens), in helping newcomers (refugees/ skilled immigrants) to Canada in integrating socially and economically, especially getting jobs and settling in their communities. The resilience and determination of Newcomers to succeed in their new country against all odds, inspires him working with them so they can achieve their individual goals.

Stanley has vast experience in Career Development and Academic Advising, Relationship management, Finance and Human Resources Management. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Business in Administration, Public Administration and a Master of Science in Business Administration. He believes in our common shared values, with the hope that someday human degradation, senseless wars will come to an end and we will live in harmonious world as envisaged.

Ntabaza Chirimwami

Livelihood Coordinator

Ntabaza Chirimwami was born in Walungu, Democratic Republic of Congo and has been living in Uganda since August 2015 with his family as Refugees having fled from conflict. Ntabaza holds a Degree in environment and Innovation Development from Institut Supérieur de Dévelopment Rural in Bukavu. He worked for World Wide for Nature in Bukavu where he held a position of Program Assistant. As a current Refugee in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, Ntabaza works with Avsi Foundation Uganda in the Settlement as a Community-Based Trainer in their livelihood programme.
